Being an interior designer means I love all things pretty. Of course I have my favorite design styles and decorating tastes, but I truly appreciate all aesthetics. I should also mention I LOVE Christmas, which means I love holiday decorating. I don't know if its the warm glow of the lights, the glistening tree, carefully wrapped gifts, it's likely all of the above. I find that my design style is always evolving, This year I found myself decorating more on the minimalist and Scandinavian side using minimal monochromatic decorations on my tree, cedar boughs, and all white lights. I made my first cedar bough wreath this year, with materials right out of my own back yard.

One of my favorite pins this year is a simple little tree in an antique crock. I have about 6 of these crocks, so off to the forest I went to find my perfect little Charlie Brown tree. One of the perks of living in the Fraser Valley is the beautiful forests and mountains in my backyard.

I changed up my tree skirt this year too. I was torn between using a chunky knit blanket and a basket, until I stumbled upon the perfect basket at Homesense. So basket it was.

And finally...my tree. Not as glamorous as a beautiful Pinterest photo, taken with my trusty old iPhone 7, I just love sitting in front of the fire looking at the simple red ornaments that shine against the white lights.
